Parliament looking to change towing laws.

Parliament today (16 September 2021) are looking to amend legislation that will mean that car drivers will no longer need to take another test to tow a trailer or caravan, freeing up some 30,000 test slots annually. This additional capacity can be used to reduce the backlog in HGV testing. Those wishing to tow trailers or caravans are still encouraged to obtain suitable training where possible but they are no longer required to take a test. If you passed your full driving licence on or after 1st January 1997 you are currently restricted on the weight of trailer you can tow.
